Estella "Stella" Costley Wright

Estella Costley Wright (Stella), died at midnight on June 6, 2016, at her home in Kingsville, Texas. Stella passed away peacefully of natural causes. During her final days and last hours, Stella was being visited and comforted through prayer and love by her family and friends. Stella was 84 years old.

Stella was born in Falfurrias, Texas to Jose and Herminia G. Costley in 1932. As a child, Stella enjoyed singing, dancing, and fashion. She attended public school in Falfurrias through high school when she was voted Most Beautiful two years in a row (a feat she was extremely proud of!).

After high school, Stella married her first love, Jesse Grimes Jr. The couple lived in Falfurrias where they had one bouncing baby boy, Jesse Joe Grimes III. After years of love and devotion, Jesse Jr. had an untimely death. Stella continued raising Jesse III with unprecedented strength and will. She worked many jobs including selling insurance, being a make-up consultant, and serving as a secretary at Brook’s County Hospital, all to ensure that her son would have everything he needed.

Once, Jesse III was graduated from high school, Stella married Albert Wright. She often spoke of how lucky she was to find two wonderful men to love. Stella and Albert lived in Kingsville for many years where they owned and operated Wright Plumbing Company. They built a beautiful home on North Padre Island, but eventually decided to come back home to Kingsville to be closer to family.

Albert preceded Stella in death in 2010. Stella continued to live and love. She spent time visiting with her favorite person in the world, Jesse III. Trips to Corpus for lunch, shopping on QVC, and staring endlessly at photos of her perfect grandchildren were activities that filled her heart with joy.

Stella will be remembered for her amazing strength as a woman, her undying love for her family, and her wonderful fashion sense. She truly was an incredible woman.

Stella is survived by her son Jesse III (Diana) Grimes of Kingsville; 3 grandchildren, Jesse IV of Kingsville, Stella (Jason) Wilson of Kingsville, and Connie (Brad) Womack of Kingsville; 6 grandchildren, Kaleb, Kade, Mikaela, Jacob, Sienna, and Brody; and siblings Richard (Mary) Costley of Falfurrias, Lydia Lopez of Bishop, Elva Ramirez (deceased), Joe Costley (deceased).

Pallbearers will be Kaleb and Kade Womack, Oscar Morales, Robert Grimes and Lucian and Rex Costley.

Please join the family for a viewing beginning at 5pm followed by a Rosary at 7pm, on Tuesday, June 7th at Del Angel Funeral Home in Falfurrias. Funeral services will take place Wednesday, June 8th at 10am, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias.
