Irma Alicia Ruiz-Mejia

Irma Alicia Ruiz-Mejia, a resident of Falfurrias, Texas, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Thursday morning, March 23, 2017 at a hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born on November 12, 1955 to Gregorio Ruiz and Graciela Leal Ruiz in Falfurrias, Texas. Irma was a loving housewife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

She will always be remembered for all the love she gave, especially to her four sons. She was their number one fan and was always ready to be involved and cheer them on whether it was in a Jersey sport or theatre play. She liked to play Bingo and “Chalupa” and enjoyed visiting different game rooms in her spare time. She also loved “Thursday Night Karaoke” at the local Taqueria.

As Irma entered into the gates of Heaven she was reunited with her father, her husband, Ruben “Wolfer” Mejia and her two aunts, Alicia Leal Chapa and Minerva Leal Perez.

Left behind to treasure her memories her mother, Graciela L. Ruiz; her four sons, Ruben Gabriel (Alex) Mejia, Ricardo Santana (Amy) Mejia, Rey Leonard Mejia and Roger Alejandro Mejia; two brothers, Jose Gregorio (Emma) Ruiz and Carlos Adolfo (Annabel) Ruiz all of Falfurrias; four sisters, Maria Teresa (Domingo) Villarreal of Falfurrias, Norma (Alonzo) Barrera of Falfurrias, Graciela Leticia Ruiz of Hebbronville and Nora (Juventino)Benavides of Falfurrias; five grandchildren, Alexa, Gavin, Sierra, Danae and Alyssa and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and great friends.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Albino Barrera, Jaime Benavides, Arturo Larraga, Humberto Ramon, II, Carlos A. Ruiz, Jr., Jason Villarreal and Marco Zuniga. Honorary Pallbearers are her two brothers, Jose G. Ruiz and Carlos A. Ruiz.

Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias. Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
