

Juanita “Ama” C. Chapa, 83, was called home by the Lord on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at a hospital in Kingsville, Texas. She was born on October 7, 1930 in Falfurrias, Texas to Jose R. Castillo and Hortencia Villa Castillo. She was a loving housewife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and good friend to many.
She was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by her parents; husband, Manuel S. Chapa; son, Jose Chapa; grandson, Damian Chapa; great-grandson, Angel D. Chapa; two brothers, Rodolfo and Ramon Castillo and daughter-in-law, Ludin V. Chapa.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her three sons, Juan M. (Teresita) Chapa of Falfurrias, Salvador (Nancy) Chapa and Richard (Dalia) Chapa both of Texas, City, Texas; one daughter, Gloria (Arnoldo) Montes of Edinburg, Texas; brother, Rosendo Castillo of Falfurrias; two sisters, Maria Barrera of Falfurrias and Raquel (Humberto) Silvas of Kingsville, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2014 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias.
Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
