Norma Linda Barrera, of Premont, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 11, 2022 at a hospital in McAllen, Texas at the age of 75. She was born on February 3, 1947 to Roberto Villarreal, Sr. and Dora Lawrence Villarreal in Edinburg, Texas. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed arts and crafts.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 43 years, Honorato Barrera, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Dora A. (Noel O.) Villarreal, III of Weslaco, Texas; brothers, Roberto (Sheryl) Villarreal, Jr. of Seguin, Texas and Ricardo (Gracie) Villarreal of McAllen; sister, Oma (Esteban) Garcia, Jr. of Encino, Texas; four granddaughters, Andrea L. (Aaron Alcantara) Villarreal, Dana A. (Enrique) Arce, Rayna N. Villarreal and Laura E. Villarreal; eight great-grandchildren, Aarin, Ayden, Ava, Rylee, Aylee, Aubree, Tristan and Axton; and many nephews and extended family members.
Pallbearers will be Ricardo “Richard” Villarreal, Eduardo “Eddie” Garcia, Michael A. Villarreal, Esteban “Steve” Garcia, III, Bobby J. Villarreal and Enrique “Rick” Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers are Esteban Garcia, Jr., Noel O. Villarreal, III, Enrique “Rick” Arce, Aaron Alcantara, and Joshua D. Villarreal.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias. Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
