Odilia Ramirez entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 13, 2024 at a nursing home in Falfurrias, Texas at the age of 93. She was born on April 15, 1931 to Miguel Gonzalez and Olivia Rodriguez Gonzalez in Falfurrias, Texas. Odilia worked as a provider for many years before her retirement. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and always faithful in prayer. Odilia loved cooking for her family and was known for her delicious homemade tortillas and her amazing sweet tea. She also enjoyed playing chalupa, bingo, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and being involved with Los Amigos Trail Riders.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesus A. Ramirez; children, Jose Blas Ramirez and Maricelda Canales; brothers, Santos Gonzalez and Humberto Gonzalez; sisters, Idalia Zuniga and Aida Gonzalez; granddaughter, Jessica Johnson and great-grandson, Santana Blas Ramirez.
She is survived by her sons, Jesus Rolando (Yolanda) Ramirez and Roel (Ana) Ramirez both of Falfurrias; daughters, Janie R. Longoria of Falfurrias and Cris R. (Joe) Trevino of Premont, Texas; brothers, Mike Gonzalez and Eloy Gonzalez; sister, Sylvia Gonzalez; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Pallbearers are Mateo Longoria IV, Trey Trevino, Tomas Ramirez, Ryan Garza, Joe Trevino and Sammy Palacios. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ruben Canales, Jr. and Mark Ramirez.
A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2024 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias and services will conclude with Burial at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
