

Osbaldo “Wally” Escalante passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at a hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas at the age of 53. He was born on August 3, 1963 to Oscar Escalante, Sr. and Gloria Irma Jasso Escalante in San Antonio, Texas. Wally had many talents and used them to work at various places throughout his lifetime. He managed the local Falfurrias Winns retail store and Stop and Shop convenience store for many years. Wally also worked as a Rigger in the oilfield industry for Peak USA, I.E. Miller and Benavides Brothers Trucking. His latest employment was with Whataburger where he was a cook. Wally was known for having a generous heart and contagious smile. He was always willing to go the extra mile to help anyone out as best as he could.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his two brothers, Oscar (Norma) Escalante, Jr. and Orlando Escalante both of Falfurrias, Texas; three sisters, Cynthia Escalante (Albert) Martinez of Alice, Texas, Leticia (Rene) Reyes of Encino, Texas and Lisa (Homer) Esquivel of Falfurrias, Texas; special brother-in-law, Julian (Helga) Martinez of Falfurrias; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece.
Memorial Services will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias.
