Ovidio “Shorty” R. Trevino entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at his residence in Falfurrias, Texas at the age of 81. He was born September 9, 1943 to Alfredo Nasario Trevino and Alvesa Vela Trevino in Falfurrias. Before retirement, Ovidio was a Supervisor for GTE/Verizon and worked with them for over 35 years. After retirement, he worked with JF Falcon Trenching as a Supervisor as well. He was also a member of the Brooks County Youth Booster Club and a devoted donor for the Brooks County Fire Department.
Ovidio was a very loving person and tended to be on the quiet side. He loved his family and adored his grandchildren. Spending quality time with them gave him so much joy. He also enjoyed horseback riding, being outdoors and eating at the Oasis Restaurant in Premont, Texas.
Ovidio is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Belia Ramirez Gutierrez of Falfurrias; his sons, David Trevino and Ernesto (Felisha) Gutierrez III of Premont; daughters, Johanna Trevino of Corpus Christi, Texas, Catherine (Cris) Benavidez of Falfurrias, Carol (Martin) Martinez of Concepcion, Texas and Camille (Alex Flores) Gutierrez of Pleasanton, Texas; brother, Alfredo N. Trevino of Premont; sisters, Brunilda Garcia of Corpus Christi and Benelda Trevino (Jose) Escalante of Falfurrias; 12+ grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
A Rosary will be prayed at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
