Ramon B. Huerta entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at a nursing home in Falfurrias, Texas at the age of 93. He was born on July 16, 1929 to Julio Huerta and Clara Benavides Huerta in Encino, Texas. Ramon proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from the Falfurrias Creamery after dedicating over 20 years of service as a delivery driver. Ramon enjoyed nature, mowing the yard and anything he could do outdoors.
He is reunited in Heaven with his parents and nine siblings, Maggie, Juan, Chavela, Estella, Esmeralda, Julia, Isidoro, Robert and Clara.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Imelda P. Huerta of Encino, Texas; son, Ramon (Rosavel) Huerta, Jr. of Encino, Texas; daughters, Oralia (Roel) Villarreal of Cibolo, Texas, Norma Ramirez of Falfurrias, Texas and Dalia Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister, Olga (Raymond) Rodriguez of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren, Annabel Ramirez, Octavio “Trey” Gonzalez, Liza Landrum, Monica Miller, Isidro Huerta, Denise Johnson, Erika Guerra, Jose Carlos Huerta and Ramon A. Huerta; eight great-grandchildren; special nephew who was extremely close to Ramon, John Huerta of Encino, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, October 17, 2022 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Encino with Visitation beginning at 8:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:15 a.m. and services will conclude with Burial with military honors at the Huerta Family Cemetery on Las Cuatas Road.
