Rene Moreno Salazar Sr.

Rene Moreno Salazar, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at a hospital in Kingsville, Texas at the age 73. He was born on September 3, 1947 to Ricardo Salazar, Sr. and Eva Moreno Salazar in Falfurrias, Texas. He worked for many years in the asbestos environmental control industry out of Victoria, Texas. Rene worked with the watermelon farm ranch as well and later became a Carpenter. He also performed mechanic work for family and friends when needed. Rene loved horseracing, hunting and fishing. He always helped, guided and supported his family members the best way he could. He was like a big brother to his cousins, always making sure they were taken care of. Rene was loved and appreciated by so many of his family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Herlinda Salazar; brothers, Roberto Salazar and Felix Ricardo Cruz and sister, Elenora “Nora” Figueroa.

Rene is survived by his three sons, Rene (Terry Saenz) Salazar, Jr., Raul Salazar and Rodolfo “Rudy” Salazar all of Falfurrias; brothers, Ricardo Salazar, Jr., Humberto (Lisa) Cruz, Oscar Cruz, Jose Roberto Cruz, Homer Cruz, Armando Cruz, Robelin (Irma Ramirez) Cruz all of Falfurrias and David Garza of Edinburg, Texas; sisters, Elva Salazar Del Bosque, Elda Gloria Cruz, Imelda Cruz, Marta Elinora Cruz and Oralia Cruz all of Falfurrias; four grandchildren, D’ Andrea Salazar, Sierah Salazar, Blas Salazar and A’zyah Salazar and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Falfurrias.
