Roel Villarreal, 78, of Encino, Texas, went to his eternal rest on Saturday, November 6, 2021, after a long illness. He was born on May 6, 1943 to Enrique Villarreal and Marta Perez Villarreal in La Mesa, Encino, Texas.
Roel was a proud veteran, serving in the United States Army. He worked as a welder for most of his career and, after retirement, worked with Brooks County Road and Bridge and served Precinct 3 as Brooks County Commissioner and Justice of the Peace for several years.
Roel served his community on the Loma Blanca Soil and Water Conservation Board. He was a founding member of the Southern Brooks Volunteer Fire Department and a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Encino.
Roel is reunited in Heaven with his parents; his wife, Maria Imelda “Melly” R. Villarreal and brothers, Eutiquio, Homero, and Humberto Villarreal.
He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia (Frank) Villarreal-Garcia; grandchildren, Melinda Sue Perez, Gabriella Nicole Garcia and Mateo Xavier Garcia; great-grandchildren, Juan Enrique “Tres”, J’Lyssa Enez, and Jo’Lene Emelda Santana and siblings, Enrique (Elda) Villarreal, Raul (Imelda) Villarreal, Yolanda (Benito) Villarreal, and Cesar Villarreal.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Encino with Visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Villarreal Cemetery on FM 755 in Encino, Texas.
