Wow...it was four years ago today that we lost our friend, Anita. I have a black Brighton purse that I bought with Anita and our friend Kathy Gabriel, on a visit to Sanibel. I still use that purse often and think of Anita. I think of her so often...and remember to pray for Al, as he misses his best friend and continues on with his life. Anita would be SO proud of you, Al! You have done well and are doing exactly what she would want you to do! Know that you remain in my prayers for comfort and wisdom in every aspect of your life. God bless you, Al.

I served with Anita in the Kendall County Master Gardener program. I remember her friendly smile, sweet voice, good laughter and gentle presence during meetings and planning sessions for the annual plant sale. 
She and I have the same silver Brighton watch and always felt that tied us together.  I think of her when I wear the watch.

We were so saddened to hear about Anita passing away. Nick and Nancy told us what happened. We are so very sorry for your loss. Even though we haven’t seen each other in many years, we wanted to extend you our deepest sympathy and to let you know you are in our thoughts and prayers during this very heartbreaking and difficult time.  May all the beautiful  memories you’ve made with Anita help to ease your pain as time goes on.

It is so hard to believe Anita is gone. I have known her for almost 50 years and I have so many wonderful memories of her. We have gone through good times and struggles together.  Alan, I pray for you and I know how much you loved each other. She was so fortunate to find such a loving man to marry. You gave her a wonderful life. Please know her friends will keep you in their prayers and are there for support. 

So sorry to hear this tragic news. I have worked with Anita for six years in the Master Gardener program and with you for some of those years, Al.  She was a knowledgeable and dedicated gardener and always fun to have around. She will definitely be missed at all our activities. As a retired RN and health educator, I always promoted organ donation, so it's comforting to know that she will be helping others as an donor. Thank you for doing that.


I am very saddened to hear of Anita's untimely death.  Working with her the past five years in Master Gardener activities her enthusiasm and attention to detail always stood out.  She was a huge asset and will be missed.  Wishing you comfort in your memories during this difficult time.

Words may not suffice to express the heartfelt sorrow that we feel for the passing of Anita, but please know you have our love and support.  As an IPEA President, as well as a teacher, Anita undisputedly made sure that Indian Prairie’s Schools endured to be places of hope, and academic success and growth for all students. She will be remembered as a hero for the life she gave, as well as, the life she lived. May the peace which comes from the memories of love shared, comfort you now and in the days ahead.

The world became a sadder place the day Anita left us-but also more enriched because of her giving the gift of life through organ donation.  What a wonderful legacy.  May this legacy help get you through this difficult time.  Anita will not be forgotten.

In 54 years, I have lots of memories of Anita. We met in 5th grade and remained friends all these years. From trips to New Buffalo, to visits in Sanibel - we shared lots of good times and watched each other grow up into adults, even into retirement. Anita's dear husband, Al, would join us sometimes when we visited and it was apparent how well-matched they were as a couple - for many years. Al and Anita lived a rich, full life together. I pray God's blessings on Al as he moves forward into a "new normal." May God comfort you and direct you, Al. You have honored Anita at every step in this tragic accident. She would be so proud of you.
