Leroy was born on April 27, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, to Raymond F. Soch and Jeanette Dusek. He grew up in Franklin Park, where he built the foundation of the hardworking, independent man so many came to know. He graduated from East Leyden High School and went on to spend many dedicated years working at S+E Electrical, where he remained until his retirement.
Leroy was someone you didn’t forget. He had a sharp sense of humor, a strong personality, and a way of making people laugh even in the simplest moments. He was married for 17 years, and although the marriage ended, the friendship and respect between them remained.
He had a true passion for cars—whether it was going to car shows, talking about them, or adding to his collection of model cars. He loved being outdoors, especially riding his bike and spending time at his cabin in Wisconsin, where he found peace and enjoyment in nature.
More than anything, Leroy will be remembered for the moments he shared with family—the laughs, the stories, and the memories that will live on. He leaves behind his brother, Ray Soch; his cousin, Don Ottesen; and many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
