Ramon Lamas, age 91, resident of Oak Park, formerly of Chicago’s Garfield Ridge neighborhood, passed away Sept. 29, 2013 in Westlake Hospital. Ramon is the loving husband of Antonia; and loving father of ; Maria Luisa Miramontes, Uriel Lamas, Maria Del Refugio Alejo, Bertha Ortega, Hortencia Placencia, Luis H. Lamas, Salvador Lamas, Eliona Estrada, Maria A. Lamas, Maria Luisa “Vicky” Ruiz, Olga Diaz, Carlos Lamas and Sergio Lamas. Mr. Lamas is the grandfather of 48, the great-grandfather of 52 and the great-great-grandfather of 2. Mr. Lamas was a farmer for many years. A visitation was held October 3 in Woodlawn Funeral Home in Forest Park. A Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday October 4th at St. Mary of Celle Catholic Church in Berwyn. Interment followed in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
