Teresa A. Meyer, age 67, of Forest Park, Illinois passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2023. Loving wife of 22 years of David, beloved daughter of the late Frank and the late Antonia Markosek, loving sister of Maria (Karl) Zorjan, the late Catalina Markosek and the late Frank (Margaret) Markosek, aunt of many nieces and nephews, daughter-in-law of the late Robert and the late Dorothy Meyer, sister-in-law of Richard (Barbara) Meyer, Donna (Mark) Sauter and Robert (Lorelei) Meyer, also survived by relatives and cousins in Slovenia and countless friends.
Teresa graduated from Proviso East High School and Triton College and worked for Wagner Zip Change and River Edge Hospital. She also worked as a reader for contract specialists with the Veterans Administration at Hines Illinois. Teresa was awarded the Gwendolyn Williams Distinguished Service Award by the National Federation of the Blind of Illinois. Teresa enjoyed reading, the casino, watching crime shows and shopping. She was an all-around happy person who was always happy to be with her friends and family and will be forever remembered for her kindness, compassion and sharing of love to everyone.
A visitation for Teresa will be held Monday, March 6, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 am at St. Bernardine - St. Luke Church, 7246 Harrison Street, Forest Park, Illinois 60130. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11am at the church. Interment at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum, 7201 Archer Road, Justice, Illinois 60458. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Federation of the Blind of Illinois, the American Cancer Society or the Slovenian Catholic Mission.
