Allan K. Jeffries, 75, of Garrett, formerly of Greeneville, Tennessee, passed away on October 3, 2015. Born on February 11, 1940, in Logansport, Indiana, he was a son of the late Kermit and Jeanne Jeffries. He proudly served his country in both the Air Force and the Navy, he retired from the US Department of State and was a dedicated volunteer at Laughlin Memorial Hospital, Greeneville, Tennessee. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Valerie Jeffries; daughter, Laura (Scott) Ingrum; grandchildren, Alexa (Jeremy) Johnson and Kyle Ingrum; great-grandchildren, Aryia, Josiah and Jayce Johnson; brothers, Arthur (Carol) Jeffries and James (Linda) Jeffries. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Dolan.
At his request there will be no services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Homes, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana or the American Cancer Society.
