

CARL EUGENE WANNEMACHER, 74, of Fort Wayne, died on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at Parkview Hospital. Born June 16, 1936, in Payne, Ohio, he was the son of the late Herman and Helen Wanne macher. He served in the Army National Guard. He retired in 1991 from Lincoln National Life Insurance Co. after 35 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and Summit City Barbershop Chorus; a Docent at the Art Museum; and volunteer at the Embassy Theater. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Judy K.; son, Mark (Michelle) Wannemacher of Howe; daughter, Kim Stacy of New Haven; grandchildren, Alec and Nathan Wannemacher and Tyler and Tiffany Stacy; sister, Ann (Dan) Olwin of Payne, Ohio; and brothers, Jerry (Evelyn) Wannemacher of Dayton, Ohio and Maurice (Elaine) Wannemacher of Payne, Ohio. He was also preceded in death by his son, Daniel Joseph Wannemacher, in 2007; daughter, Cynthia Ann Wannemacher, in 1974; brother, Bernard Wannemacher; and sister, Betty Rose Kast. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior. Monsignor Bruce Piechocki officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with a vigil service at 3:30 p.m. Preferred memorials to Matthew 25 or St. Vincent dePaul Society at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church.
