Cheryl A. Young

Cheryl Ann "Chery" Young, 81, of Greenwood, Indiana, formerly of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 8, 2025. She was born on August 26,1944, in Fort Wayne. She graduated from Central High School and later Indiana Wesleyan University. She worked as an accountant at various companies in Fort Wayne and Indianapolis. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family. While it ultimately contributed to her passing, Chery bravely battled and beat breast cancer many times over the years. Surviving family include her children, Christine (Brian) Young-Green, David (Cara) Young, and Lynnette (Ronald, II) Brown; grandchildren, Alexis (fiancé Ben King) Young, Adam Green, and Corey Brown; one great granddaughter, Lyla, who will be born any day; and brother, Timothy (Kathy) Schriver. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Young in 2003; and by her grandchild, Alec Brown in 2024. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 19, 2025, in the Highland Park Cemetery Chapel, 2403 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior. Burial will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery. Contributions in Chery's memory can be made to Franciscan Hospice House, Indianapolis.
