Debra "Debbie" Smith, 62, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025. Debbie was born on July 24, 1962 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, a daughter of Reverend Charles M. and Betty C. Smith, Sr. She worked as a banker for Wells Fargo and later Flagstar for over 30 years. She enjoyed shopping, spoiling her nieces and nephews, and her favorite Starbucks drinks. Most of all though, she will be remembered for her deep love for her family and the Lord. Surviving family include her mother, Betty C. Smith; siblings, Charles M. "Chuck" (Karen) Smith, Jr., Connie (Larry) Elder, and Tammie (David) Cook; eight nieces and nephews; as well as seven great nieces and nephews. Debbie was preceded in passing by her father, Rev. Charles M. Smith, Sr. A celebration of life gathering for Debra will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne.
