Delite Irene Kiess

Delite Irene (Butcher) Kiess, age 75, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025. Born on August 26, 1949, in Dunkirk, Indiana, to parents Lester and Ruth (Fisher) Butcher, Delite was beloved by so many. She attended Dunkirk High School. Later in life, she would marry the love of her life, Charles Allen Kiess, and they would go on to create a lasting legacy full of love and laughter with their family for 43 years.

Delite was a creative soul full of warmth and life. Her hands were always busy creating, whether it was crafting and decorating, painting colorful works of art, crocheting beautiful pieces, or growing the most vibrant flowers in her garden. She would always brighten the room with her carefree dancing, singing loud and proud. Above all, Delite treasured every moment she spent with her friends and family. She touched so many lives. Everyone who crossed her path will cherish the many memories of joy, laughter and love she leaves behind forever.

Delite is survived by her husband, Charles Allen Kiess; children, Melinda (Glenn) Menefee, Coni Kiess, Dorinda (Mike Sollars) Hogle; step-children, Charles Andrew (Sandy) Kiess, Adam (Michelle) Kiess; grandchildren, Christopher (Kierston) McComb, Chelsie (Mike Gabet) Hogle, Briley Hogle, Amber Minick, Anthony Kiess, Jonah Kiess, Sara Brockman, Betsy Brockman; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Alpha (Jeff) Campbell, Sharon Shaffer; and many more family and friends who will forever remember Delite’s warmth. Delite is preceded in death by her parents Lester and Ruth Butcher, and sister, Leslie (Ted) Coffman.
