Donna Pendergrass

Donna “Ducky” Pendergrass, 60, passed away on March 4, 2016 and will spend a spiritual life with the Lord. She was born April 10, 1955 in Fort Wayne to the late Roy and Velma West. Donna worked for Dana Corp in Columbia City (also known as PTG) for thirty years. She was a student at Arcola Elementary School then went on to attend the first class of Carroll High School. Donna left high school early to marry her lifelong friend, partner, and love, John Pendergrass. Later, she received her General Education Degree and graduated from Indiana Institute of Technology, where she was on the Dean’s List every year. Donna loved to travel and accompanied her husband around the world while he was involved in Martial Arts. While her husband of 45 years was the love of her life, her children and grandchildren were the sparkle in her eye. Every holiday was a special event for her, spent with the children and grandchildren; she continually made them exceptional days. Donna was an avid shopper and showed her love through her gifts. She is survived by her husband John Pendergrass of Fort Wayne; children, Deanna Janelle-Sam Grotrian of Fort Wayne, Mary Elizabeth-Tim Pancake of Decatur, John Richard -Sharice Pendergrass of South Bend, Kerri Alysia Pendergrass of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Brittney Marie Gregory, Evan Drake-Justine Gregory, Whittney Suzanne Gregory, Justen Anthony Gregory, Bethaney Lou Anne Gregory, Kaylin Lynell Pendergrass, Kameryn Christine Walker, Averi Elyse Pendergrass, Ajay Alynn Pendergrass, Kynedi Monroe Pendergrass, Kingston Mikael Hartman, Amelia Audrea Janelle Hartman; and great-grandson, John Kerri; siblings, Roger (Judy) West, David (Barb) West, Larry (Hazel) Parker; eight brothers and sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews from this large, loving family. She was also preceded in death by her sister, DeAnne; brother, Mike; and granddaughter, Audie. Funeral Service will be at 11:00am on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at the funeral home. Burial at Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of NE Indiana.
