Duane Roger "Butch" DuMont

Duane Roger DuMont, 72, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at home. Born on April 8, 1949, he was the son of the late Raymond and Marie DuMont. He was a 101st and 82nd Airborne Army Veteran, having served in Vietnam. Butch, as he was known, was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran (Soest) Church and was also a member of the UAW and American Legion Posts 241 and 296. He retired from BF Goodrich after over 40 years of service. He was a black belt in karate and loved to fish and hunt. Surviving are his wife, Karen (nee-Wiedman); sons, Korry (Victoria), and Devin; a brother, Walter; sisters, Jacquelynn (Bill) Ortner, and Gwen Hackbirth; grandsons, Josh, Ethan, and Drake; other relatives and dear friends. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 18, 2021, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home (6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne), with a viewing one hour before the service. Viewing will also be on Thursday, June 17, 2021, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.
