

EDMUND "ED" JOSEPH BALL, 71, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at his residence. Born in Auburn, he was the son of the late Edmund and Agnes Ball. "He was a beloved husband, father, grandpa and brother, and friend to many." He worked in sales and as a manager at Fort Wayne Tire Center (Isaac Tire, Inc.), retiring after 35 years. He also worked Zollner Pistons and Warner Gear. He was a member of Single Action Shooters Society and was previously active in the Fort Wayne Dive Club. He enjoyed ballroom dancing and was an avid accomplished competitor. Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Barbara; sons, John Ball and Rev. Eric (Teresa) Ball; daughters, Sheila (Ron) Skinner and Tania (Greg) Stanezak; stepson, Brian (Heather) Addis; stepdaughters, Wanda (Major Anthony) Schillace and Vaunda Baxter; sisters, Sarah (Gary) Liens, Marsha (Mike) Likens, Susan (John) Szela, and Kristene (Wilbur) Moore; 22 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Betty Ball. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at Aldersgate United Methodist, 2417 Getz Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Preferred memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
