For 39 years Floyd started working at Wolf and Dessauer, then L.S. Ayers and finally Macy's, where he retired from.
In his spare time, he sang and played guitar. He and his wife joined a band, Audience Unlimited where they played in nursing homes. Country music was his favorite genre. Floyd also enjoyed working in his yard. He was an avid IU basketball fan.
He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Donna Birdwell; children, Michael (Margaret) Birdwell, Debra (Keith) Diller; four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn Lattanzio.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, December 5, 2025 with visitation from 12 pm to 2 pm at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46835.
Burial will occur at Covington Memorial Gardens, Ft. Wayne, IN at a later date.
