Geraldine "Gerry" Ruth Steers

GERALDINE "GERRY" EITNIEAR (MILLER) STEERS, 90, entered into the presence of God early Sunday morning, May 3, 2015, at the Aperion-Care facility in Peru, Ind. Born May 26, 1924, in Di-mondale, Mich., she was a daughter of the late Chester Eitniear and Sadie (Hardwick) Eitniear. Geraldine graduated from Dimondale High School and later earned an Associate's Degree in Accounting from the Bell and Howell Correspondence School. She retired from the accounting firm of Dulin, Ward and DeWald in Fort Wayne, in 1988. Geraldine enjoyed outdoor activities with her sons and enjoyed many years of extensive travel with Eben Oldham. She is survived by her three sons, Alfred "Wes" (Sandra) Miller Jr., Larry (Pamela) Miller and Jeffrey (Lisa) Steers; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several cousins. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Beatrice Michael and Erma Eitniear; husband, Alfred Miller Sr.; husband, Harry Steers; and a companion of 31 years, Eben Oldham. Funeral service is 4 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2015, at Woodview Church of God, 1825 Getz Road, Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior. Burial at a later date in Dimondale Cemetery, Dimondale, Mich.
