Gertrude “Trudy” Eunice Behning, 85, of Fort Wayne, Indiana shared her life with us from December 18, 1937 thru May 4, 2023 when the Lord beaconed her to join Him in Heaven. All of us have been blessed by her. She served at Concordia Theological Seminary for over 50 years, part of them as a Professional Assistant to President Dr. Preus. She belonged to several groups throughout the years including N.E. Indiana American Business Woman, Three Rivers Chapter (1986 Chapter Woman of the Year) for many years. Lutheran groups over the years were Walther League and Women’s Missionary, Ladies Aide, Mary Martha among other time spent with good friends. She loved to read, recording each in a book that is full of titles and authors. Her parents, Harry Henry and Dora (Kindt) preceded her in passing as have three brothers, Frank (Eldora), Fredrick (Marjorie), and William (Patricia-deceased). Her brother, Arthur (Norma-deceased) is still alive as well as nieces and nephews, their spouses and children. Funeral service will be 10:00 am on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 8811 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. No flowers please, memorials to American Cancer Society, Ascension Lutheran Church, Bethesda Lutheran Communities, and Concordia Theological Seminary.
