

GUY M. BEERBOWER, 96, of Leo, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, at The Cedars. Born in Allen County, he farmed several hundred acres in northeast Allen County. He involved himself in agriculture organizations including the 4-H program, Farm Bureau and he served as president of Allen Dairy for a time. He was on the Indiana State Fair Board where he served as president his alst year. He was recognized by Governor Bowen with the "Sycamore of the Wabash" award. "His deisre was to love God and follow God's plan and purpose for his life." He was a member of Crossview Church, Grabill and was past president of Farm Bureau. Surviving are his daughter, Bonnie J. (Elmer) Lengacher of Harlan; son, Thomas G. (Sandra K.) Beerbower of Harlan; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Wayne, Owen, Ray, and Russell "Pete" Beerbower; and sister, Anna Mae Rediger. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Berdene, in 2004; brother, Carlin; and sister, Opal Green. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road. Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
