

Herman Jones 76, of Grabill, entered God's Kingdom on Monday, August 21st, 2023. Herman and his twin brother Sherman were born on September 6th, 1946 in Floyd County, Kentucky to Earl and Armina (Stumbo) Jones. Herman was preceded in death by both of his parents as well as his brothers Sherman, Edsel Ray, Petral Gene, and Donnie Jones, and his sister Juanita Jones Puterbaugh. Herman was survived by his loving wife; Lucrissie Jones. Herman's daughters; Teresa Jones and Beverly Jones both of Fort Wayne and Chasitie (Ned) Ousley of Prestonsburg, Kentucky. Herman's son Larry (Abby) Jones of Prestonsburg, Kentucky. Stepdaughters; Janet (Tim) Keathley, Valerie (David) Rorrer and Melissa Hamilton. Herman's stepsons; Randy (Angie) Keathley and Charles Keathley. Herman's sisters; Rhonda (Paul) Williams, Glenda (Dale) Donohue. Herman's brothers James Ricketts, Earl Jones, and Tommy Jones. Herman also leaves behind 19 grandchildren, including his favorite granddaughter Morgan, 9 great grandchildren and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Born and raised in Kentucky at the age of 18, Herman enlisted in the United States Army. Proudly serving his country from May 1968 until May of 1972. After returning home from the service, Herman started as a longhaul truck driver delivering for Sunbeam Bread Company in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He continued his truck driving career for over 25 years, proudly putting over 1,000,000 miles on his semi truck. Herman was happy to pass the love of driving to his children and his grandchildren. After retiring, he continued delivering for various car dealerships throughout Fort Wayne area. Herman was known for his witty sense of humor. He was a true Kentucky Wildcat basketball fan. Herman swore he bled blue. Along with his love for college basketball, he enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife, golfing with his brothers and friends, eating fresh cucumbers and tomatoes from his garden, and making the best biscuits and gravy for his family. He was a good man and a selfless man who loved his family deeply. The love he showed will be engraved in the hearts of everyone who knew him. The viewing service will be held Friday, August 25th from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home at 6131 Saint Joe Rd. Fort Wayne, Indiana. A service will follow the viewing at 6:00 PM. Officiating the service will be Randy Keathley. Memorial contributions may be made to Lucrissie Jones or Riley's Children's Hospital. Feel free to wear Kentucky blue in memorial of Herman Jones.
