John E. Boone

John E. Boone, 100, of Fort Wayne, Went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday October 31, 2016. Born on March 24, 1916, in Galveston, Texas, he was the son of the late, John B. and Edna E. Boone. He was a member of Brookside Church, Fort Wayne; he proudly served his country in the US Army Air Corp. He worked for and retired from Clay Equipment, he then became a piano tuner and repairman until just a few years ago. He thoroughly enjoyed his family time and being a part of Brookside Church, where he was a greeter and shared his musical talents (piano and vibraphone) and enjoyed being a member of the choir for 40 years.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marcia (Bryan) Boone; daughter, Amy (Steve) Betz; grandchildren, Aaron Schlegel, Angie Schlegel and Brandon (Rose) Betz; and great-granddaughter, Brianna Abbott.

Funeral service will be 11am, Saturday November 5, at Brookside Church, 6102 Evard Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm, Friday, November 4, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
