Keith had a deep love for life’s simple pleasures. He was a devoted fan of the Fort Wayne Komets and the Fort Wayne TinCaps, and he loved catching games whenever he could. He shared a special bond with his sister, Rita Hanke, especially over their shared love for IU sports—always calling after the games to talk about who won.
Known for his kind heart and generous spirit, Keith found happiness in giving. Whether it was a hand-colored drawing, a treasure from a garage sale, or a thoughtful gift, he never left a visitor empty-handed. He especially loved sweets, and Rita always made sure to bring him cookies during her visits.
He adored his daughter, Leanna, and treasured his grandson, Luke. Keith was also proud to be involved in the Special Olympics and worked for many years at Rise, now known as Easterseals ARC.
Country music was always playing in Keith’s world—he loved it all, especially Elvis and Johnny Cash. He also loved coloring artwork, garage saleing, and sharing good food. He had an unforgettable ornery streak, always knowing just how far he could push the limits with a twinkle in his eye.
A true foodie, Keith had very specific tastes—especially when it came to cheeseburgers (only cheese, of course!) and a plethora of other favorite treats. He once arranged for a friend to bake his sister a birthday cake—then made sure it was shared with him and all his friends. That was Keith—always thinking of others, but never one to miss out on a good dessert.
Keith had a great soul and a joyful laugh that left a lasting impact. Despite life's challenges, he carried himself with kindness, humor, and a whole lot of love. His final act of generosity was as an organ donor—continuing to give even in passing.
Keith is survived by his beloved sister, Rita Hanke, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond; his daughter, Leanna Culver, the light of his life; and his very special grandson, Luke. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5 pm on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46845. Visitation will be held from 3:30 pm to 5 pm.
Keith will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by those who were lucky enough to know him.
