Kenneth Dale MacMillan, 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 4, 2025 at Parkview Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 11, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Charles and Ruth MacMillan. He spent his early years living in Ferndale, Michigan.
Ken graduated from Oakland University with a degree in Business Administration. After graduation, he had a 39-year career with Aetna, retiring in 2011. His last position was as the manager for the Fort Wayne claims office.
While in Minneapolis, Ken met the love of his life, Diane. They were married in 1979, and their son, Ross, was born while they lived there.
Ken was an avid fisherman, reader of mysteries, bird watcher, and cat lover. He often travelled the US to visit his many relatives and enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii, Florida, and Minnesota. What he enjoyed most was spending quality time with his family playing rousing games of Peter Rabbit and Chinese Checkers.
Ken is survived by his wife of 46 years, Diane MacMillan; his son, Ross (Ashley) MacMillan; his granddaughters, Elizabeth and Charlotte; numerous cousins; and his much-loved cats. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gary MacMillan.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation starting two hours prior at 12:00 pm. Inurnment will occur at a later date in Highland Park Cemetery and Mausoleum, 2403 E Wallen Rd, Fort Wayne, IN.
