Kevin E. Cogar, 46, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021, surrounded by his loving wife, children, and family. Born on January 12, 1975, in Fort Wayne, Kevin worked for Steel Dynamics for the past 10 years, creating a spirit of hard work and friendship to all. His true passion was in coaching NFL flag football for more than 15 years, traveling all over the country, making a difference in the lives of the youth that he was able to coach, mentor and inspire. Kevin's sense of humor, positive energy, goofy laugh, and zest for life, will be missed by all who were lucky enough to meet him, and will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 15 years, Natalie M. Cogar; children, Forrest (Ashley) Brandenberg, Jalen Cogar, and Brooklyn Cogar; granddaughter, Alice Brandenberg; parents, Loyal R. "Bob" (Maria) Cogar, and Mary K. "Kathy" (Steven) Saylor; and siblings, Robert (Camille) Cogar, Kristy Fitzgerald, and Jack Saylor; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clifford and RosaLee Baughman, and John and Betty Rigdon.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home (6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne), with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at the funeral home.
