

Lonnie Miller, 64, of Avilla, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 16, 2015, at his home. Born on August 27, 1950, in Wolf Lake, he was a son of the late Roland and Shrielda (Sayler) Miller. A member of Harbor of Love Baptist Church, he retired in 2004 from SuperValue after 30 years of service, after retirement he went on to become a Ferrier and an insurance adjuster. Lonnie had a love for horses, all animals and all his family. He was an amazing husband, dad and grandpa, and had a strong Christian faith. He is survived by his loving wife of more than 40 years, Karen “Jan” Miller; sons, Troy Miller and Eric (Aimee) Miller; grandchildren, Samuel Wickliffe, Jackson Wickliffe, Evan Buckles and Katy (Mike) Zent; great-grandson, Easton Zent; sisters, Louise Brown, Irene Coburn and Meggie (Manfred) Derkatsch; brothers, James (Beverly) Miller and Roland (Kathy) Miller Jr.; sister-in-law, Connie Miller; brother-in-law, Gene Hall. He was also preceded in death by a brother, George Miller; and sister, Christine Hall. Funeral service will be 11am Tuesday June 23, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior, Pastor Charles Mosley officiating. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm Monday June 22, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to Riley Children’s Hospital.
