Melanie Sue Shive

MELANIE S. "SUZY" SHIVE, 66, of Auburn, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, at Betz Nursing Home. Born on June 27, 1948, in Fort Wayne, she was the only daughter of the late Don and Violet (Miller) Gerbers. Suzy was a housekeeper at DeKalb Hospital and recently retired in May. She was also a member of the American Legion and The Moose Lodge 566, both in Auburn, Ind. Suzy was fond of Country Western dancing and had been actively dancing for over 20 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 12 years, Larry Shive of Auburn; sons, Tim (Marsha) Hahn of Garrett, Ind. and Ron (Shellie) Hahn of Noblesville, Ind.; five grandchildren, Keith Hahn, Kourtney Hahn, Kady Hahn, Jamie Hahn, and Lexie Hahn; and one great-grandchild, Brayden Christian. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Bob Arenobine officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
