Miriam Elizabeth Patton, 87, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2021. She had married Darral Patton, her high school sweetheart, who preceded her in death in 2006.
Miriam was born and raised in Dumont, Iowa, living in Wisconsin and Florida before moving to Fort Wayne in 1970. She loved to travel, having a sense of adventure. She traveled to many countries and through most of the U.S., going 3 times to Alaska, and 2 times to Hawaii. She also enjoyed camping, playing cards, collecting angels, and stuffed bears, making stained glass lamps and window hangings, as well as volunteering. Darral and Miriam had 5 children: Michael, David (Sherry), Dennis, Brian (Tracy), and one daughter, Theresa. She was also the loving grandmother of 5 grandchildren, who have wonderful memories of her reading and playing with them.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church (4916 Trier Road, Fort Wayne), with visitation from 9:00am to 10:00am prior to the Mass. Inurnment will take place in Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Miriam's honor may be given to American Lung Association, or Lewy Body Dementia Association.
