

Nancy M. Mihalik, 59, of Fort Wayne, was called home by her Heavenly Fathher on Monday, Oct. 18, 2010 at home. She was born July 7, 1951 in Waterloo, IA, to Jack and Evelyn (Miller) Chaney. She retired from Verizon as a dispatcher. "Despite her struggles on earth, she maintained her ability to give everything she had to those she loved, for that, she will be rewarded in Heaven. She enjoyed talking and telling stories and was an avid movie buff." She is survived by her daughter, Monique (Peter) Alderdice of Fort Wayne; son, Marshall Mihalik of Fort Wayne; 5 grandchildren, whom she loved more than words can say and treasured every moment she spent with each of them; father, Jack Chaney of Fort Wayne; sister Judy Taule' of Las Vegas, NV; brothers James (Chiarina) Chaney of Las Vegas, NV and Donald (Joyce) Chaney of Fort Wayne and former husband, Timothy Mihalik of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Chaney and brother, William Mather. A memorial mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, IN. Visitation will be on Monday, Oct. 25, from 6 to 8 pm at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, IN. There will be a Vigil service following visitation at 8 pm at the funeral home. Burial in HIghland Park Cemetery.
