Raymond L. Richards

Raymond LeRoy Richards, 93, of Huntertown, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday May 23, at his home. Born on August 19, 1921, in DeKalb County, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Georgia L. (nee. Bradley) Richards. He graduated from Huntertown School in 1939, he faithfully attended Bethel United Methodist Church for over 63 years. He had a caring and loving personality and would drop what he was doing to help or talk to his neighbors. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Elizabeth K. (nee. Yoder) Richards; son Thomas L. (Kathleen) Richards; brother, Charles W. Richards Jr.; grandchildren Matthew (Rebecca), Mark (Robyn), Miles (Becca) and Marcella Richards; eight great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Millie L. Middaugh, Albert A. Richards, Sheldon E. Richards, Robert E. Richards and Billy M. Richards. A celebration of his life will be held 10am Wednesday May 27, at Bethel United Methodist Church, 8405 Lima Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm Tuesday May 26, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Perry Township Cemetery, Huntertown. Memorial donations may be given to Heartland Hospice or Heritage Missions School.
