

RICHARD A. SORDELET, 78, of Fort Wayne, died on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, 3:15 a.m., in Fort Wayne surrounded by family and friends. Born Sunday, June 10, 1934, in Huntertown, he was a son of Hilda A. (Roy) and Alfred J. Sordelet. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1957 and was self employed in Real Estate. He was a member of American Legion Post 777, Corvette Club and Fort Wayne Street Rod Club. Surviving are his wife, Mona L. (Crowl) Sordelet of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Kerri Morningstar of Fort Wayne and Liz (Tony) Geisleman of Denver, Colo.; two sons, Richard (Kathleen) Sordelet of New Jersey and Gerard (Pam) Sordelet of Minnesota; two stepdaughters, Dr. Tonie (Doug) Reincke of Lansing, Mich. and Necho Baker of Tulsa, Okla.; and two brothers, Russell Sordelet and Larry (Nita) Sordelet, both of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy, Gene and Harold Sordelet. Mass of Christian Burial is noon Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Father Edward E. Erpelding officiating. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road. Burial in St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Turnstone or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
