Robert E. Franke, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away on April 22, 2016. Born on March 6, 1927, in Anderson, he was the son of the late Edward and Pearl Franke. He proudly served his country in the Army during WWII.
He is survived by his children, Mike (Jane) Franke, Karen (Mike) Grashoff, Jim (Sandy) Franke, Kathy (Walt) Polston, Fred (Frannie) Franke and Joe (Lori) Franke; son-in-law, Roger VanDerSnick; 24 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruthann Franke; daughter, Karel VanDerSnick; and sister Annamarie Huffman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am, Wednesday, April 27, at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 1515 Barthold Street, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8pm, Tuesday, April 26, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with a Rosary Service at 8pm. Inurnment will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Honor Flight of Northeast Indiana.
