Russ never saw a stranger and could quickly take over a room with his humor and charming personality. After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Army in 1953, he continued his service to the country as a Contract Administrator at Picatinny Arsenal, HBR Singer and Magnavox, the latter retiring after 33 years. Russ was active in the industry, belonging to the American Legion Laguna Woods Village Post 257 and holding leadership positions in the National Contract Management Association, and having a scholarship named in his honor.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Arlene, his two children, Robin and Randy, his brothers and sisters, and his parents. Russ is survived by his current wife, Bebe Shaddack, his son, Ron, five grandchildren, Kacie, Ashlee, Nick, Ben, and Alexandra, and five great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Asher, Easton, Cole, and Oakley.
Interment will be at Concordia Gardens Cemetery. No visitation is planned, and the immediate family will hold a private service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 257.
