
SAMUEL M. TRAUGHBER, 82, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014. Born Jan 10, 1932 in Tullahoma, Tenn., he was a son of the late Sam and Ollie (Nichols) Traughber. After graduation, he served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for Johnson Controls, Inc. as a heating and air conditioning specialist, from which he retired. Surviving are his wife, Sharon Traughber of Fort Wayne; daughters, Janelle (Mark) Spencer of Byron, Ohio, and Shelly (Dave) Wilson of South Bend, Ind.; step-daughters, Brenda (Kevin) Stetler and Kimberly (Rick) Brandenburg, both of Fort Wayne; stepsons, Thomas Helton and Jeff (Tiffany) Helton, both of Fort Wayne, Kelly (Alex) Helton of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Earl (Monica) Reed of Columbia City, Ind.; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brother, John Traughber; sisters, Dorothy Fanning, Mary Davis, and Fannie Toms; and stepson, Michael Curneal. Funeral Service is 1 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., with calling one hour prior.
