

Steven Ross Hoy, aged 73, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on August 3, 2024. Born in Lancaster, Ohio, on January 19, 1951, to Ross Joshua Hoy and Ida Mae Van Person, Steven was a cherished member of his community and a loving family man.
Steven graduated from New Haven High School and furthered his education at Purdue University in Fort Wayne. He embarked on a fulfilling career, initially working for Bartlett Tree Service, before establishing his own business, Triple S Trucking, where he thrived as an owner and driver.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Steven was a passionate hobbyist, deeply involved in building, racing, and showcasing remote control cars. His love for mechanics extended to attending car shows, where he was known as a true Gearhead. He loved music, especially Eric Clapton and BB King. Christmas was his favorite holiday and he turned into a kid Christmas morning. Hollywood Beach, Florida was his little piece of Heaven.
Steven's kindhearted and caring nature was evident through his extensive volunteer work. He dedicated numerous hours to mentoring men at the Rescue Mission in Fort Wayne and worked at the Treasure House thrift shop. Known for his positive outlook, Steven's generosity and never-complaining demeanor left a lasting impact on those around him.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca "Becca" Huffman, with whom he shared nine joyous years of marriage filled with travel and family gatherings; his daughter Sara Renee (Matthew Morris) Hoy; his sister, Bee (Gary) Miller; nieces, Jodi (Larry) Miller and Jamie (Joey) Feraca; nephew, JR Federspiel; and numerous great-nieces, nephews, and cousins. Steven was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life is planned for early October to honor Steven's memory. The Hockemeyer-Miller Funeral Home in Fort Wayne, IN, is assisting the family during this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Michael J.
