

Teresa E. Granahan, 89, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021. She was born November 10, 1932, in Fort Waynne, Indiana, and was a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne. She was the eldest daughter of the late Marie and Paul Kleinrichert, and wife of the late Lawrence A. Granahan, to whom she was married for 64 years before his passing in 2019.
Teresa was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church the past several years, and previously a member of St. John's Catholic Church, where her children were raised. She participated in many volunteer projects and bible studies with both churches.
She enjoyed baking, sewing, and gardening as her hobbies. And she always had a soft spot in her heart for dogs.
Teresa graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1950, then worked in a secretarial position with Lincoln Life Insurance until she married the love of her life, Larry, in 1955. Then her career became taking care of her husband, raising five children, and loving on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always had time to visit, whether friend or stranger. Larry affectionately referred to her as "Gabby".
Teresa is survived by her children—Kathleen(John) Weisbrod, Timothy (Maggie) Granahan, Daniel (MaryEllen) Granahan, Maureen (Bill) Schnier, and Terrence (Florence) Granahan; eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Kleinrichert, Jerome Kleinrichert, James Kleinrichert; sisters, Rose Fishman, Cecilia Kleinrichert, Agnes Grove; and many wonderful in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Paula Stephanis; and brothers, Joseph Kleinrichert, and Donald Kleinrichert.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Saint Anne Retirement Community, where Larry and Teresa resided the last 3 years. Thank you for all that you did to make our parents comfortable!
A visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, December 17, 2021, at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, IN, 46835, with the Rosary being said at 5 p.m. Graveside prayers and entombment will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Mausoleum Garden Chapel of Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN. A memorial celebration of mass will be held at a later date.
