WAYNE A. REKEWEG, 63, of Fort Wayne, died on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Parkview Hospital. Born Feb. 12, 1948, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Margaret Rekeweg of Albion and the late Wilbur D. Rekeweg. He was a 1966 graduate of Woodlan High School; a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran; and recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a Millwright for General Motors. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. "Wayne loved his family." Also surviving are his wife, Danni; son, Daniel W. Rekeweg of Fort Wayne; stepdaughter, Heather (Jason) Connor of South Whitley; sister, Diann (Del) Tewes of New Bloomfield, Mo.; brothers, Paul (Nettie) Rekeweg of Woodburn and Glen (Christine) Rekeweg of Coldwater, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior. Burial Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery on Bull Rapids Road, with military honors. Preferred memorials to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
