Anna, known by many as Oma, will always be remembered for her kind ways and love for her family. She married the love of her life, Virgil “Dale” Hampton on November 19, 1954 in Furth im Wald before moving to the United States of America and becoming a citizen in March of 1955. They raised two boys, Dale Paul Lee and Donald August, whom she was so very proud of.
Anna was a long-time resident of Widefield, CO and spent her time being an amazing mother, loving grandmother and great grandmother, and a great friend to many. She spent many years working in retail, beginning her career at Duckwalls in Security, CO, then at Alco in Widefield, CO, and then moved to Burlington Coat Factory in Colorado Springs, CO where she retired.
Anna and Dale spent many joyful years fishing, traveling, hunting, and entertaining friends and family. When she wasn’t working, she loved spending time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and gambling in Cripple Creek. She also loved playing Pinochle with her card groups, playing the piano, and making sure she had the best-looking yard and flowerpots on the block.
Anna is preceded in death by her loving husband Virgil Hampton, her son, Dale Hampton, her parents, and her sisters Elisabeth (Hubertus) Bierbaum, and Renate Poppe. She is survived by her son Donald (Tracey) Hampton, Daughter-In-Law Pam Hampton, 5 grandchildren, Jeffery (Cheryl) Hampton, Ginny Hampton, Robert Hampton, Virgil (Mia) Hampton, Osha Hampton, 4 great grandchildren, Tanner Hampton, Kaylee Hampton, Tristin Ann Hampton, and Osha Hampton, brother Paul (Sabine) Bratke, and Brother-In-Law Achim Poppe, along with many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
