

Donald Stephen Bloyd, who was beloved by his family and friends, died peacefully at his home in Colorado Springs on July 16, 2025. Steve, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Van Nuys, California on May 3, 1951.
He grew up in Pueblo, CO. Steve is survived by his mother, Alice Bloyd, sister, Caryn Swagerty (Jim), brothers, Brent (Sue) Bloyd, Brian (Teri) Bloyd, one uncle (Dennis Pugh), numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He joined the Navy following graduation from high school, where he was held in high regard by his commanding officers and fellow seamen. Steve served in Vietnam and other locations while he was in the service. He was a very interesting and complex individual. He had many passions in life. He loved his family and friends and was devoted to them. Steve loved nature and the many activities involved with being in nature. He was passionate about working with his hands, such as woodwork and beadwork, music, the arts, electronics, cooking, and collecting old and rather unusual artifacts. He was very detailed and precise in many areas of his life. Steve suffered from the exposure to Agent Orange while in Vietnam, which took a toll on the quality of his life for many years. Steve found the Lord and was saved and baptized in the early 1980's. He is now resting peacefully in the arms of his Lord and Savior.
