It comes with great sadness that I am writing about the loss of Gene. I have many fond memories of the times we spent together.  He influenced me in so many ways. He will be missed by all that knew him. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones. Please accept my condolences.  May he rest in peace.

Dear Aunty Maureen, Marc and Traci,

It’s very sad news that Uncle Gene is no longer with us.  I have many fond memories of our family gatherings and Uncle Gene being the calm figure  in the corner sipping his drink watching all the activity around him.
He had a great approach to life and always had gratitude for what he had and made sure he enjoyed each day with a smile.

I remember first meeting Mo and Gene 1970s when my famiky moved from England and my dad bought a house just down the road on Holly drive.  There were lots of dance parties and gatherings for many, many years.  You will be missed by so many!

Althought I'm far away I am thinking about You all and especially Mo.

Gene lived a full life and blessed with a wondeful family. A Life well lived.

I have many memories of my  dear brother-in-law, especially the times we got together as a family, whether it was in the States or in the U.K
I remember when Maureen first bought Gene to meet the family when he was stationed in Ruislip here in the uK.  I remembered him being so laid back and looking like the spitting image of Buddy Holly.
Gene shared an apartment in Eastcote, along with two of his colleagues, one being Harry Larson who had an Amazing collection of records for every genre. 
When I visited their apartment, which was quite often music was always blearing out,  especially surfing USA by the Beach Boys. 
Gene’s taste in music was more Jazz, he used to go to many Jazz clubs in London,  one being Ronnie Scott’s   One of Gene’s favourite saxophone player’s was Earl Bostic. 
After Gene and Maureen were married, and after Marc was born,  they returned to the States where Gene was stationed in California.
Gene always enjoyed coming back  on trips to the UK, he loved travelling around the countryside and stopping off at different old  pubs, so he could soak up the atmosphere, and try all different beers, he loved a pint and talking to the locals.
During my time living in Canada my  family and I  made many trips to Colorado, Gene was always the perfect host , he loved taking us around the sights of Colorado. 
My husband Mike has a fond memory of  Gene taking him on a trip up into the mountains on the back of his Harley.
Lots of lovely memories we have of Gene, he will be sadly missed. RIP Gene

Mac and I moved on the same street as Mo and Gene 50 years ago. We have many , many fond memories including me being both their children’s teacher, them inviting us to their house frequently especially MO’s 4th of July birthday parties, them being involved with all three of my kids from birth and beyond, meeting MO’s family from England especially her dear sweet funny mum, learning how to make specific English dishes on and on, Of course after we moved we didn’t see them as much but I consider them lifelong loving friends. I’m sure Gene and Mac are getting reacquainted. Gene was intelligent, witty and had a terrific sense of humor. I’ve never heard him be anything but positive and encouraging. I’ll miss him.

George S. Patton once said that...."It is foolish and wrong to mourn the loss of great men.  Rather, we should thank God that such men lived!"  So it was with Gene Canady. While we will miss him, we will always cherish the great memories that both Mo and Gene gave us.

We had the pleasure of meeting Gene when he visited Mo's family in the UK.

Mo, Don and I are so saddened to hear of Gene's passing. It is no small thing to be missing half of yourself after so many blessed years together.  I remember so many quips from him while working together, it would probably fill a book. Keep your loved ones close and your memories closer! Love to you and your family. ~ Don & Genny Dobyns

Dennis and I enjoyed our time together with Gene and MO during our PPHOG days. Rest now, Gene. I know you'll be looking down on Mo. Thoughts and prayers to all.
