She was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on July 29, 1975, the youngest of 3 children to David and Martha Krietemeyer (Arambula).
Heather graduated from Widefield High School in 1993. After graduating, she became a barber/hairstylist, a career she loved and enjoyed for 27 years. She had an entrepreneurial spirit and since 2009 was self-employed working along with her sister. She loved her clients and many became some of her closest friends.
Her family and friends were extremely important to her. She was a mother, daughter, sister, and friend that anyone would be lucky to have. She enjoyed live music, trying different restaurants, playing darts with her friend, Norma Hilde, on a league at the local VFW, and especially the beach, which she was able to visit regularly with her friend, Melissa Hoffman. You knew if Heather was around, you were going to have a good time. Heather was always the first to offer help anytime someone was in need.
She leaves behind, to cherish her memory, her son, Gavin Smith; her loving mother, Martha Krietemeyer; her brother, Mike Krietemeyer and his fiancée Christine Huntley; her sister, Sarah Hughes and her fiancée David Starnes. She loved her nieces and nephews Krystal, Evan, Jenna, JD, Noah, Nicole, Dylan, Ashleigh, Ava, and Jonah. Her great-nephews Aiden, Hayden, John, Axton, and Easton brought her joy. She is reunited with her father, David Krietemeyer who passed away in 2000.
