James Michael Costa

James Michael Costa known as "Jim" of Colorado Springs passed away on February 2nd, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. Jim was born in EI Paso, TX on December 16th 1957 to Joseph M. Costa, Jr. and Irmburg Costa. He joined the Boilermakers Union Local 101 in February 1977 where he began his apprenticeship. His only daughter, Jennifer was born in October 1984, and he married Joan C. Grayckowski on February 27th, 1993. He joined the City of Colorado Springs Utilities in February 2001 as a Power Plant Mechanic Specialist and worked there until March 2012.

Jim is survived by his wife, Joan, his daughter, Jennifer, his brother, Joseph, his uncle James, his step-father, Carleton Alexander, his step-brother, Blythe Alexander, his grandson, Charles Youngblood, Jr., nephews Joseph and Christopher, his niece Lindsey; grand-nephews Joseph, Trenton, Christopher and Braxton.

He was preceded in death by his grand-parents, Joseph M. Costa, Sr. and Nan Costa, his father, Joseph M. Costa Jr., his aunt Peggy (Margaret) Toole, his mother, Irmburg Alexander, and his brother, Thomas P. Costa.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary.
