Lee is preceded in death by Mother, Dorothy A. Nash and Father, John J. Nash
As a child, Lee lived in Germany, with his family, from the age of 9 until age 18. He was 1 of 6 boys. While he was in high school, he was in a band where he played the guitar and sang. His band days were something he looked back on with fondness, and he shared his love for music with his kids and grandkids. Upon returning to the United States, he was drafted into the US Army during Vietnam, where he was a member of the 82nd Airborne. His Army days weren’t something he talked about a lot, but he was proud of his time served and he loved jumping from perfectly good airplanes. Lee was on a road trip with friends when he received his military draft. It was during that road trip that he fell in love with Colorado Springs, which he called home for over 40 years.
After serving in the Army, Lee spent a short amount of time as a heavy equipment operator before spending majority of his career as a flooring specialist; he owned his own business (Carpet Craft) for many years. He was incredibly talented in his craft and was often sought after because of his perfectionistic reputation. Upon leaving flooring he spent several years as an assistant activities director for a local nursing home before retiring after an injury. He loved working with the elderly and had a knack for getting them all involved. He was especially gifted with, and had a passion for, patients with Alzheimer’s.
Dad had a quiet demeanor but enjoyed a good prank and laughs. He loved to fish, play guitar, sing, and play games with his family and friends. He was always anxious to teach each of us kids guitar and chess, especially. He also dabbled in magic tricks and balloon animals. He enjoyed bringing fun entertainment to those around him.
He stayed busy after retirement by doing home improvement projects around his home and his daughter’s – which included 2 different bathroom remodels this year.
He will be sorely missed by his family. We love you, Dad! You loved us our whole life, we'll miss you for the rest of ours.
