Lou was born in Ritchie Illinois. He passed away at home at the age of 84. He was a Sargent 1st Class Decorated Korean War Veterans the US Army as an aircraft mechanic. He was stationed at Camp Carson when he met Mildred Averitt and they were married on May 2, 1953.
He moved his family to Security and shortly opened the J&L Gararage with Millie in the early 60’s.
He was a charter member of the Security Volunteer Fire Department. He served in multiple officer roles and was Fire Chief for 13 years until his retirement. He served on the Security Fire Board for multiple times.
He is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Jessie; his beloved wife Millie and his son Corky.
He is survived by his two sisters: Edna (Gene) Grubbs and Barbara Douglas; his daughters: Beth (Gary) Laliberte, Patti (Jim) O’Leary, Carol Harding and Linda Harding; nine grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, multiple nieces and nephews and his companion Trixie.
His memorial service will be at 11 am Saturday, November 15th @ Dove Witt Family Mortuary. Donations can be made to Security Fire Dept Auxiliary or Disabled American Veterans.
